I want to become a TESOL teacher in the future and get a degree in teaching English. This highschool year abroad will allow me to learn a new language and experience a new culture with many new people! I want to learn about other places in the world and want to travel as long as I live. After the education and achieve a TESOL certification, I will likely apply for the Peace Corps because I want to do whatever I can to make other lives better. I feel like it takes time to understand others, but using up time for that could never be a mistake. If people in the world were able to better undertsand one another, then it would be a kinder, more happier place. I have the opportunity to go abroad, but I don't get to choose the destination. For now, I know it will be somewhere in South America! I'm so excited to go, I think any place that I get sent to will be extremely rewarding!
I've wanted to go on foreign exchange for 3 years, since the start of middle school, because it looked like the opportunity of a lifetime. Im mostly on my own financially for this, but I'm determined to do as much as I can to make it happen.
