My Travel Story

We are starting our summer subsistence gathering and I would like to have my daughter come home to help. We gather from the water and land for the long winter ahead. We try to gather as much as we can and share our catches and gathering with family and friends. We live in a small village, 400 air miles away from the largest city in our state of Alaska, and 45 miles from the nearest hub. Our groceries and supplies at our village stores have outrageous prices, so we rely on gathering fish, moose, and berries.
