My Travel Story

by: Iman Noor Start Date: Mar 31, 2018 - End Date: Aug 13, 2018
My entire life I have been indecisive. Picking between vanilla or chocolate can be the hardest choice I have to make in a day. When indecisiveness comes into college/university plans things can get muddy.

I want to get this out of the way: I have never really had an idea what I want to do with my life. But I do know this. Winterline called out to me. Winterline, is the first time my mind has been clear. I know what I want to do

As a kid, I did not have any passions. I hobbled between art and Mai Thai. All around me kids had these passions. Piano, soccer, coding. I was just Iman. I wanted something. I wanted a label. It is because of that confusion and lack thereof of a label that I believe I am in the position I am today. Not knowing what I want to do.

The Winterline gap year program speaks out to me as it is not a complete vacation. I will be learning 100 plus skills from CPR to defensive driving. I hope that from this learning of skills I find one I am passionate about. So I can devote some time to that as opposed to doing utterly nothing because I "can't pick". I hope to find a skill that correlates to a prospective major in college/uni.

In addition, I hope to work during the trip. Hopefully writing for a soon to be made travel blog, or writing weekly articles for my local newspaper.

I got accepted into this highly selective program with a 5000 dollar scholorship, however that is only a dent. This trip costs quite a bit of money and that's why I need help fundraising. Anything would be appreciated. Even reading and sharing this.

xxx,
