My Travel Story

by: Yahye Omar Start Date: Jul 21, 2022 - End Date: Jul 20, 2023
Hello, my name is Yahya Omar. I'm a first-generation International student, and I'm going to share with you that I have been offered the incredible opportunity to study at Colorado State University( CSU ) this fall to pursue an Intensive English Program to Improve my English skills and smoothly transition to my degree-seeking program afterward. I'm planning to major in either Computer science or Entrepreneurship depending on what paths are available and feasible.

I'm from a low-income and poor family, I grew up with my three sisters and a single mother. Right before I became 3 years old my father died, and in the blink of an eye, my mother became widowed. Until that time my mother had been struggling alone, went above and beyond, and worked very hard to our survival. Although my mother can't contribute to my education, the responsibility to pay for college is entirely on me.
I have won a scholarship and a work-study offer from my university, and I'm going to work hard to contribute to my education a good bit, however, this can't cover the full cost of attendance, so I decided to take a loan from an international loan provider in the US.

The reason I'm starting this fundraising is to pay for my travel expenses. My major needs include but are not limited to SEVIS and Visa fees, ticket and travel expenses, and a high-functioning laptop. Also, other costs like the use of communications devices, transport services, cost of meals, clothing, and luggage costs even lodging costs can add up.
Even though the American government does not have a working embassy in my country, now I have to travel to other countries that require additional expenses such as visas, tickets, and other travel expenses which is another major problem I'm facing.

As you could imagine, studying in the United States is not so cheap, and the first step is a big one, and I can't make it without your help. If you could please help me to get one of the main requirements for my college career, to get the chance to access modern education and a good environment, where I could build my passion and career goals, to help my family and my community, Even if you are unable to donate, I would truly appreciate you for sharing my story and spreading this around. As the saying goes it takes a village. Thank you in advance and be blessed!

    I got my I-20
    Dear donors,
I get my I-20 form from my university and it's time to apply for my visa. First I must pay the SEVIS fee which is $350 and I didn't get it till now, other costs I need will include visa and vaccination fees. I'm kindly asking you to donate to my project and be the first person to contribute to my education. If you can't donate I appreciate you sharing this project.
    Thank you all
