Call Sign Purple Three is a story about the South Korean Demilitarized Zone or DMZ. Its a story of what the U.S. Military did while pulling this Combat Mission during the Mid 80's, 1985 to be exact. It tells of the many sacrifices these soldiers made and the hardships they encountered. I was one of these soldiers with 385 combat patrols Night Ambushes and day recons I spent 10 years in South Korea with nine rotations to the DMZ. We hope the documentary will bring to light what the mission was all about and the many dangers these men encountered while patrolling inside the DMZ,. We hope to educate the american people about the real DMZ and the soldiers that patrolled it. There has been 5.5 million G.I. that have pulled the DMZ mission with little or no recognition for the job they performed, its time they got it don't you think.
