Introduction: Hi, my name is Wendy, and I’m almost 58 years old. I’m currently unemployed and have spent much of my life focusing on responsibilities like work and family. Now that I have the opportunity, I want to make one of my lifelong dreams come true: traveling abroad. I’m reaching out to ask for your support to help fund my very first trip out of the country — to Dublin, Ireland — and I’m excited to take my 22-year-old niece with me, who will be out of school for the summer.

As someone who’s spent years focusing on my responsibilities, I never had the chance to travel internationally. Now, being unemployed has given me the space to finally take this dream seriously, and Dublin is my dream destination. This trip is more than just a vacation — it’s a chance to experience new cultures and create lasting memories.

My niece, Sommer has just finished school and has the summer off. I want to make this trip a special bonding experience with her before she moves on to the next chapter in her life. We’ve both dreamed of traveling together, and she is in love with Ireland.  This is our chance to explore the world as a team. It’s a unique opportunity to share unforgettable experiences, and I know this trip will strengthen our relationship.

After a challenging time of unemployment, this trip represents a new beginning for me. It’s an opportunity for personal growth, a chance to recharge, and a way to step out of my comfort zone. It’s not just about seeing new places; it’s about gaining new perspectives and revitalizing my life.

I’m raising funds to cover the essential costs of the trip, including: Airfare: Round-trip flights for me and my niece from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Dublin, Ireland. Accommodations: A comfortable, safe place for us to stay during our time in Dublin. Meals & Daily Expenses: Covering the costs of eating out, transportation, and exploring the local sights. Our reason for going to Ireland is to experience the Cultural and Historical Activities: Entry fees to museums, historic sites, and tours that will make our trip to Dublin memorable.

This trip is a way to reclaim a piece of my own happiness and independence during this difficult period of being laid off and unemployed. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams, take risks, and make new memories — especially with someone you care about deeply. This trip is not just for me; it’s for my niece too. By funding our journey, you’re giving us the chance to bond in ways that will create lifelong memories. She’s definitely excited for the chance to share our journey through photos, social media, and stories, so you can be a part of our adventure every step of the way.

As someone in their late 50s, this trip shows that age or life circumstances, like losing your job at this age, you should never stop us from living our dreams. I hope to inspire others in similar situations to take risks and follow their passions, no matter where they are in life.

Being unemployed has made it challenging to afford such a trip on my own. I’m passionate about this experience, but without your support, it’s a goal I can’t reach alone. Your generosity will allow me to make this dream trip a reality for me and my niece.
