About SLV Global?
SLV global is a non-profit organization that provides psychology students & graduates from around the world gain hands on experience in the mental health sector whilst being immersed in the culture.

What will I be doing?
I will be volunteering for SLV global team for a mental health placement in Sri Lanka for 6 weeks starting in September 2017. On placement I will be involved in a number of projects such as working with patients in mental health care facilities, working with people with special needs and teaching English. One of the amazing things about SLV is allows me to get out of the ‘no experience, no opportunity’ cycle by allowing me hands on experience in all projects, which I wouldn’t get at home.

I will also be staying with a home-stay family and at the weekends it is possible to go traveling around Sri Lanka allowing myself to fully immerse in the culture. I'm thoroughly excited for this opportunity to really gain hands on experience as well as experiencing a totally different culture from my own.

SLV global is an amazing organization helping people get the care they deserve and need which makes me very proud to be part of that. So you’ll not only be helping me but helping others getting the help they need. Although I will be enjoying my time out in Sri Lanka and working hard, I do need funds in order to do this.
