A Dream Come True-Turn Disabilities into Magical Memories
My Travel Story
Life has its twists and turns, doesn't it? In the midst of this wild journey, I'm reaching out to you with a heart full of hope and a story that's uniquely ours. I'm a single mom, rocking the world with my three amazing kiddos, each one a little star that brightens up my universe. Today, I'm daring to share our dream, and I'm wishing you'd want to be a part of it.
Among my stars, there's this shining 5-year-old, my son. Cerebral palsy might be a part of his story, but let me tell you, he's a real-life superhero. His smile can light up a room, and his spirit is unstoppable. But here's the thing – life's thrown some curveballs, and he's had to miss out on the simple stuff that kids should get to do.
This summer, the daycare had these field trips that sounded like pure magic – places to explore, friends to make, stories to tell. You can imagine the sparkle in his eyes, imagining all the adventures he'd have. And then, the reality hit us like a ton of bricks. His wheelchair, bless its heart, just couldn't hop on that bus, and suddenly, his excitement turned into quiet disappointment. Can you imagine breaking the news to a little guy that his dreams of exploring new worlds had to take a rain check? He'd look at me, his eyes questioning, and my heart would ache, knowing that yet again, life had dealt him a tricky hand. And this happened over and over again. They had field trips scheduled every 2 weeks this summer, so every other week he would come home so excited about going to the zoo with his friends, or the Mideval Times, or the baseball game, and my heart would break for him EVERY TIME. It's been a sad summer, because not only has he had to miss out on all the fun, he is also going through testing and preperation for a major surgery that will take at least a month in the hospital to recover from. It's a very hard time for my family right now.
But here's where you come in, dear heart. We're not looking for just any vacation – we're dreaming of a Disneyland Cruise to the Mediterranean. Picture this: my son, his sisters, and me, sailing into a world where limits don't exist, and laughter is the common language. This isn't just about a trip; it's about giving my son a taste of the adventures he deserves, a chance to be part of a story that's meant for everyone. And can you imagine the amount of knowledge he will gain being able to experience different countries and ways of living. It would be a dream come true for every single one of us, but most importantly, my son. He gets bullied at daycare already, and we have had conversations about kid's negative opinions about his walker, wheelchair, and disability. They have called him weird and said they don't like him more times than I can count. But he's a superhero, and he is also the happiest guy I know, so he deserves to have something amazing happen to him for once.
So, with all the humility and hope in the world, I'm asking for your support. Your sponsorship isn't just a ticket on a cruise; it's a ticket to a world of possibilities, a world where dreams come true. You're not just helping us make a journey; you're helping us create memories that'll warm our hearts on even the coldest days.
Can you be the one who helps paint a smile on my son's face, the one who turns a missed field trip into a tale of bravery and magic? Together, we can rewrite this chapter of our story, and it's a story I can't wait to share with you.
With a heart full of thanks and a pocketful of dreams,
Proud Mother of Maxx
