My Travel Story

by: India Watts Start Date: Apr 1, 2018 - End Date: Mar 31, 2019
"India takes on The World". I have always been the type of person to figure things out on my own, or gain my own experience(s) from a situation despite what others tell me. I enjoy opening up and stepping out of my comfort zone, especially if it means I have the opportunity to meet new people and expand my knowledge. I am extremely diverse, making it easy for me to adapt to different environments and genuinely focus on any project presented to me. In the past I have volunteered at Camp Hope-Camp For All, a camp aimed towards kids with HIV/AIDS. That occurrence alone showed me that helping others and doing things that I never thought I would, was something I enjoyed. Aside from my customer service and childcare skills, I also have a deep love for writing and blogging. If given the chance to volunteer/study/intern abroad, I will be able to effectively nurture my personal growth, acquire a much needed understanding of the world and the people who inhabit it, as well as evaluate my life goals pertaining to now and my future. I know that being able to experience a country other than what I am used to will give me the fuel that I need to truly unlock my mental, allowing me to reach my higher purpose. Not only will I be able to capture the beauty of these foreign countries and their people, but I will also be able to see the bad. I will be able to witness firsthand what some of these countries undergo such as poverty, sex trafficking/prosititution, poor education, and lack of mental/healthcare awareness. I plan to reach out to these communities by offering my assistance, whether that be by advancing global health, providing childcare, or even teaching English. I also plan to develop the skills needed to be successful in my career field, Communications/Journalism. I will be able to develop a global network, set myself apart from others, and even jumpstart my career. I believe that this will be an extrememly trasnformaive and powerful experience, which is something that I live for!
