My Travel Story

My name is Yelika Hernandez. I recently graduated from Warner University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Media Writing. Through this letter, I am requesting help to fundraise for a three-month-long mission trip to Amman, Jordan, from June 15th to August 17th of 2024. 

The mission trip is coordinated by IVHQ, a company based out of New Zealand and NYC, which helps coordinate different volunteer tourism trips. Throughout my stay, I will be supporting teachers to help children from communities with limited resources and refugees use art as an emotional outlet. 

Throughout my time in college, I was able to gain relevant experience through different internships with The Polk Museum of Art, and the College Radio Association (CRA). 

From these and other internships, my passion for the arts grew and opened the door for me to work in art nonprofits full-time. 

Arts in all mediums have always been an important part of my narrative, and I am a firm believer that free access to teachers and materials betters one's quality of life.
