Hi All!
My name is Jarrod, I am a 25 years old Australian and I am seeking your help today to raise funds for my 6 month trip to study Taoism, Tai Chi and much more under a Taoist master in the Wudang Mountains of China!

At the start of 2018 I found myself stuck in the monotonous daily grind of a full time job and wanting a change of scenery. The repetitiveness of everyday life was getting me down and stress and depression started to set in. One late night after endless random YouTube videos I came across one introducing Taoism.

Right from the moment I discovered Taoism I wanted to know more, it gave me a new outlook on life, motivated me and reduced my stress. I bought books, watched many more YouTube videos, and scoured the internet for any web pages that could give me a better understanding of this Chinese Philosophy. Luckily enough this is when I came across Master Gu's Wudang Taoist Wellness Academy.

Master Gu is a Taoist Master living in the Wudang mountains who is open to visitors coming to learn from him directly about Taoism, meditation, Tai Chi and many more Chinese culture and customs. He is also the only fluent English speaking Taoist Master in the region, so understanding his teachings and instructions will quite easy and opportunity very valuable.

It currently costs 40,000 Yuan for accommodation, food and training combined which roughly translates to $6000 USD or $8000 AUD, so I will be setting my goal for that. I currently have a personal saving fund for flights, local travel (taxi, bus etc.) and equipment (luggage, clothes, GoPro, etc.) so will not be including that in the cost.

I plan to set off in the 2nd half of 2019, so starting this campaign roughly a year before.

What is in it for you, you say?
Well I want to share my journey with you and the world. Taoism had such a positive impact on my life, it has relieved stress, given me a more positive outlook on life, and taught me many life lessons. I plan to document my entire journey on both Instagram and on a YouTube channel for all to see, and hopefully for you all to learn from it also. I will be expanding on my lessons with Master Gu, from daily discussions about Taoism, to Tai Chi demonstrations and lessons.
Furthermore, if you have any suggestions or would like me to explore something specific on my journey I would love to hear them.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my campaign and for any donations you may send.

Sincerely,

Jarrod
