My Travel Story

by: Melissa Bliss Start Date: Nov 29, 2019 - End Date: Mar 28, 2020
Do you want to support small family farms and learn about how to have access to the highest quality, nutrient-dense foods that are all locally sourced?  Do you want to be able to see how the animals are being raised, what they are being fed, and be able to hear all about it directly from the farmers themselves?

I am Melissa Riedel, Yoga teacher (RYT 500+), Transformational Breathwork trainer and Life Coach of over 10 years in my hometown of Houston, TX.  Recently, I created a non-profit called ReWild Revolution that aims to do just that.  I have yet to register it as a non-profit as I need the necessary funding to do so in addition to many other costs associated with a start-up.

For the past year, I been supporting local small farms here in Texas that are supporters of The Weston A Price Foundation and utilize Beyond Organic and Wise Traditions in their farming methods as I have committed to sourcing all of my meats, raw A2 dairy, eggs, etc. from these farms. In addition, I have made a point to interview the farmers, write about it, documenting everything on social media and Patreon, adding photos, videos and story updates for all those that I visit, every time I visit.   I have noticed phenomenal differences in my health because of it and have inspired to many online to follow suit in supporting these local small farms to obtain higher quality foods.

I do not have family to go home over the holidays, so I typically take a vacation or work through the holidays.  However, this Holiday season, which also falls on my Birthday (Dec. 1st), I would like to do something MUCH bigger than myself.

Over the course of the next couple of months,  I would like do a tour of the US, mostly the West to start, visiting family-owned farms that are utilizing all of the farming methods I mentioned above, interview the farmers about their struggles over the years competing with big industries,  and what sets their traditional farming methods aside from the industry "organic" farms, tour the farms, photograph and video everything, write articles about it as I do so, take the online social media community with me by constantly updating with stories and photos of the trip as its happening.  My goal is to help to shine the spotlight back on local family farms, as it relates to how they raise their animals, as well as educate about the Weston A Price Foundation for Wise Traditions in Food, Farming, the Healing Arts and also inspire those in the states of these farms I visit, to support them as well, as I will offer information about local food-cops, etc that they can connect with, so that they can lessen their dependency on the industrial food system.  At the end of the journey, my plan is to compile everything into a documentary and a book.

All donations will go toward funding the necessary travel expenses for this epic journey; i.e. airbnb accommodations, food, gas, registering ReWild Revolution as a non-profit, etc.

My goal is to leave on December 16th, and to have all the funding well before then to ensure proper planning

Help me to donate my time this holiday season, to supporting local farmers across the US so that I can provide the gift of education and inspiration in return.  I will create social media pages for this expedition so that everyone can keep up with the journey, share the experience and interact with me as its happening.

All of the farms that I will be visiting can be found on the Weston A Price Foundation Website and I will provide a projected road map highlighting the farms as well for those that donate.

I am infinitely grateful for any and all donations received!!
