My Travel Story

Hi, I'm Celeste, and for the past four years, I’ve traveled across countries as a house and pet sitter, caring for animals while giving families the peace of mind they need to enjoy their own adventures. It's a role that's completely transformed my understanding of travel and connection. This isn’t just about seeing new places, it’s a lifestyle built on compassion, connection, and trust while also providing genuine, personalized care for pets, and invaluable peace of mind for their families, right in their own homes.

Instead of rushing through tourist destinations, I get to create genuine connections with animals who need love and care while their families are away.

I chose this path because I realized I didn’t want to wait for the “perfect time” to really live, and what began as a personal adventure quickly evolved into something much deeper. Every time I care for a nervous rescue dog who's never been left alone, or comfort an elderly cat who just needs gentle companionship, I'm reminded that this isn't just about my travel dreams. It reinforces why this matters: pets thrive and owners truly relax.

My work ensures these beloved animals stay in their own beds, maintain their routines, and completely avoid the stress of unfamiliar kennels. And that visible relief in pet parents' eyes when they know their furry family members are genuinely loved and cared for? That's what truly drives me.

When I tell people I'm a house and pet sitter, they often think it's just a clever way to travel for free. But the families I work with tell a different story:
  • Pets stay home where they're comfortable, rather than being kenneled or boarded
  • Families save hundreds of dollars they would have spent on pet boarding and house-sitting services
  • Homes are lived in and loved while owners are away, not just checked on occasionally
  • Pet parents can actually enjoy their vacations knowing their animals are getting one-on-one attention
I recently cared for 6-year old Katie, a poodle mix rescue. Her parents wanted to take her with them on vacation, but thought traveling under the plane would be too stressful for her. They’ve had her for less than a year, and missed her terribly. So I sent plenty of photos and videos of Katie in her favorite spots, happy at home.

I'm raising funds to cover the practical expenses that keep me on the road and available for the families and pets who need me:
  • Travel Costs: Flights to reach sits around the world, especially those in remote locations  where in-home pet care is most needed.
  • Between-Sit Accommodations: Short-term stays when there's a gap between pet-sitting assignments.
  • Professional Requirements: Pet-sitting insurance, background checks, and platform memberships that ensure I'm qualified and trustworthy.
  • Staying Connected: Reliable internet and communication tools so I can coordinate with pet parents and share updates.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Travel insurance and emergency funds for unexpected situations.
