My Travel Story

So, we have been through a lot. When I say a lot, you would think I was completely looney, or a liar. I wouldn't blame you...lol! If needed I will elaborate, but for now the somewhat short version.
We have lived in many places over the past 25 years that my husband and I have been together. We have been homeless for 2 1/2 years, living on an Island in the middle of a river in the Northern California Redwoods, to having one of the New Orleans Saints Football Players (the year they won the Super Bowl...GEAUX⚜SAINTS) as our next door neighbor. We have raised, and still are, three awesome, smart kids, now two are young adults, doing their own thing. Our youngest is still in High School. Between Life's obstacles, and raising the kids, we never in all these years have been able to go on an actual vacation, much less, a honeymoon! We never had the money. We lived paycheck to paycheck, always trying to catch up. We have lost everything we own multiple times, and have had to start over more than I care to remember. Our daughter, Ariana, who is a traveler herself, we never get to see. I miss her so much! I just want to visit with her more than anything! I thought it would be awesome to surprise her for her birthday, December 16th. She'll be 23. I so want to do something she would never in a million years think would happen! Along the way (because I think taking a train would be more fun), we could stop at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas...it'll be like the honeymoon we never had. I just know we can't afford anything of the sort. I don't mind camping...so I am not talking about 5 star hotels and fancy foods! Give me a picnic or grill by a campfire in a tent, by a river away from the noise. I, and my husband, will be, literally "Happy Campers"...lol! Thank You for your time.
