My Travel Story

by: Cassandra Rose Start Date: Feb 5, 2017 - End Date: May 15, 2017
I am off on a great adventure to Quito, Ecuador! I will be volunteering and working, and using my skills as a trained Speech-Language Therapist to help children at the Camp Hope Foundation. It would be wonderful to continue speech therapy while I'm in South America, and this volunteer programme allows me to do that with only basic Spanish.

The Camp Hope Foundation helps children and young adults with diabilities. As a speech therapy volunteer, I would work with a local speech therapist in diagnosing and treating children with a range of communication and speech issues.

The organisation is non-profit and relies on donations. To volunteer for 3 weeks, it will cost a total of $1094 USD, or $1550 NZD. I am asking for donations to help me fund this, as this is not within the shoestring budget that I will be traveling with. I would appreciate any contribution, even if small as it wil help not only me get the wonderful experience, but also help the Hope Foundation get the resources they need.

I can't wait to start exploring the rich and diverse culture of South America, and use my skills to help kiddies in need.

Thank you in advance for your helping me pay it forward.
