In seach of the congolese Loch Ness
My Travel Story
Within the deep jungle and swamps of the Congo - lies a hidden lake named Tele. It is a place rarely visited by man and it takes 6 days by canoe to get there.
Legend has it as locals around the 20th century gave detailed descriptions of seeing a monster-like creature living in the same lake, it was named Mokèlé-mbèmbé meaning ''the one who stops the flow of rivers''. It appears in the first book written in 1776 by the French priest Abbé Liévain Bonaventure Proyart, describing the natural history of the Congo Basin of Africa; which makes this expedition to Lake Tele, one for the extreme adventurer and marking it one of the most remote lakes in the world. The lake-monster should resemble something like the Loch Ness monster but nobody knows for sure.
With your help, I would like to go there, hopefully see it (from a safe distance) and capture it with my camera!
Would it not be awesome to discover a new species in these times?
This lake is so deep in the jungle that I will see fauna, flora, insects, and animals that, maybe not be documented.
I have found a travel agency that will go there in May 2024 and I want to join the team and I cant do it without your help!
Im a professionel photographer for NATO when Im not looking for lake-monsters and Im equipped with 2 cameras, lenses and a drone. I have seen most of the world including DR Congo, the gorillas and the Nyiragongo volcano. I'm used to difficult environments and live for the adventure.
My website is: www.nicklevin.net
I appreciate all your help and hopefully we can find that monster!
