Help me travel to Yale (YYGS)
My Travel Story
YYGS is one of the most globally diverse, two-week academic summer programs in the world, presented by Yale university, one of the top 20 universities in the USA. Participants will participate in an academic curriculum that exposes them to cutting-edge topics in academia, all while meeting friends from around the world and experiencing life as U.S. university students. The program admits over 2,000 students from 150+ countries and all 50 U.S. states, with a competitive acceptance rate of nearly 33%. The program tuition is $6,500, covering housing, meals, curriculum materials, etc. The program will be held from June 18 to June 30 on Yale campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
Since I joined STEM Egypt, I have understood the significance of diversity. Living in dorms that gather people from all around Egypt with different beliefs, perspectives, and cultures enriched me with knowledge. Unlike STEM school, YYGS gather people from all around the world, having a higher diversity rate. Meeting people from numerous cultures will help me learn much about their traditions and experiences. At YYGS, I aim to share my background, experiences, and Egyptian culture with others. Moreover, I aim to benefit my community by applying and sharing the experiences I will gain during the program.
The only obstacle that hinders me from participating in the program is the travel aids. The flight cost from Cairo airport (CAI) to New York airport (JFK), the nearest international airport to the university, during the program period is nearly $800. In addition, the US B-2 Visitor Visa costs $160. I am mailing you with the hope that you will be able to fund my travel aids. Thus, I can participate as an Egypt presenter at Yale.
