Hi!
My name is Veronika and I'm a medical student with a burning desire to help people in need. I was accepted by my dream volunteer program to join en expedition to Zanzibar to provide direct medical help to people in need.
This volunteer program will allow me to gain priceless experiences and knowledge, new perspectives. Helping others is what makes me happy and knowing that I can positively impact someones life is unbelievable. Volunteering in Zanzibar will broaden my horizon and change the way I view the world as well as medicine. It would be an incredibly humbling experience to be able to use my own skills and knowledge to help others in need, make their life a little better. 
The highlights of my internship will include learning from real life trauma interventions and building my knowledge from experienced Emergency Services teams alongside emersing myself in a completely different culture from my own, living on Zanzibar, a unique and beautiful African island!
