My Travel Story

This trip would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me for several reasons. For a long time, I have been considering teaching English in Japan after I earn my bachelor’s degree, with a double major in Journalism and Education. I am hoping that this educational trip will help solidify and motivate me towards this goal. This trip would be a dream come true for me, propelling me towards my future. The immersion in the Japanese language and culture would not only steer me towards the direction of my goal, to one day teach English in Japan, but also help ensure that this is the right path for me to take. After pursuing my dream of teaching, I plan to put my Journalism degree to use in the music industry. The musical genre Visual Kei, which is alive in Japan, is one of my biggest inspirations, everything from the fashion to the lyrics inspires my passion for music; I would love to see it in person. Additionally, last semester I took a World Religions course, and it was easily my favorite class I have taken. After learning about the Shinto and Buddhist religions, I would love to see the temples and shrines I have studied in person; many of which are on the itinerary. In conclusion, I love everything from Japan’s music to food, fashion, and culture, and I would be honored to be able to see it in person.
