My Travel Story

Hello all! Thank you for taking the time to read this! I am Azamat and live in Kazakhstan. I am a college counselor. Professional? No. I am just self-taught with one year of experience. I did not major in counseling. However, the lack of experience did not frustrate me when I started the job. I relied on my motto: “The opposite of networking is NOT working". So, I have been learning from the compatriots who are the leaders in the field and I prepared not many but not a few students for overseas colleges.  However, I need to go beyond borders to learn practices from the best, fine-tune my skills, collaborate with colleagues, broaden my horizons by exploring U.S. society, culture, values, and university campuses to help my students to be more prepared for education in U.S colleges.
I do believe that developing my impact goes hand in hand with equipping myself with the necessary skills. To progress myself, I am planning to attend the Harvard Summer Institute on College Admissions 2020. The total cost of the tour is estimated at $5279 (tuition fee is $1,979; air fly $1300; accommodation, trips to universities and meals $2000). But the sum is too big for a teacher like me and I am happy to have such an opportunity to fundraise. Thank you all!
