My name is Cindy Ama Fosuah, and I am pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a Doctor of Optometry. I have always been drawn to the field of vision care because sight is one of humanity’s greatest gifts. The ability to help others see clearly and live more fulfilling lives inspires me to dedicate my education and career to this purpose.

This educational travel opportunity will have a significant impact on my academic growth and professional development. By engaging with experts, learning through hands-on experience, and observing global practices in eye care, I will gain valuable insights that cannot be learned from textbooks alone. This experience will strengthen my foundation in clinical practice and broaden my understanding of how technology and compassion can work together to improve vision care.

Beyond academics, this journey represents a deeply personal goal. After losing a parent, I learned the importance of resilience and service to others. My loss has taught me to value empathy, persistence, and the courage to keep pursuing my dreams despite obstacles. I hope to carry these lessons into my profession, where I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who lack access to proper eye care.
