My Travel Story

My name is Eleanor, and I am looking to raise money to aid abandoned and abused animals in shelters around the world, from Peru to Croatia, in the summer of 2021.

Local shelters are key institutions for both animals and locals in many societies, keeping stray or abandoned animals off the street and nurturing them with the hope of getting re-homed. There are many animals that are mistreated or abandoned, and volunteers are needed to help local staff give the required attention to all the animals at the shelter. For three months, I will be nursing sick animals, improving their quality of life through both basic care and playing with them, and finding them a new, caring home. I will also be improving the shelter itself, helping on building projects and basic cleanliness, as well as raising community awareness about animal abandonment.
