My Travel Story

by: Yến Tiên Nguyễn Start Date: Apr 20, 2018 - End Date: Jun 2, 2018
Dear friends,

My name is Yến Tiên, I am now a student at University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This June, I will attend an International Student Festival in Greifswald, Germany called “GrIStuF 2018”. It is a platform run by volunteer students in North East Germany where international students around the world gather to share ideas, discuss current topic: “Beyond Borders – Where are your limits?” and attend some cultural events during the festival.

If you have been friends and around me for a while, you may know that I am passionate about social issues and travelling. I am highly interested in events that offer me opportunities to visit and experience multicultural environment. That is why I did not miss the chance to go to Norway last year for ISFIT 2017, I had an amazing amazing time there that I barely stop bragging about the trip (sorry friends!). It is just hard to believe how much I have grown and learned from the experience that my perspectives about the world have signficantly broadened. Therefore, I have also made positive impact on individuals around me.

I consider this is also a precious opportunity due to the fact that I always love to discover the world. Hence, I decide to expand the trip to 10 more days to visit some cities nearby including Budapest, Vienna and Prague after the festival until the fourth of July.

All the expenses is covered by the organizer (including accommodation, food and drinks, transportation, insurance), except for the Visa fee and the Airfare. It will cost me around over $1100 for the flights, since June is high tourist season in Germany. And the total cost for the trip is about $2300. Fortunately, I’ve got my saving budget, my parents’ support and my salary for the next 1,5 months. However, I still have a lack of $500.

Since I have worked so hard for the opportunity and I have donated cash for those who are in need before, I truly appreciate any contribution that helps me purchase my flight tickets to Germany this June. I am so excited about the idea of getting back to Europe again because it has always been my dream. Thank you in advanced for reading all this and considering helping me. Please let me know if I can do anything in return.

Cheers,
Yến Tiên.
