My Travel Story

The wondrous Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia has been under threat from the effects of development, deforestation, and climate change for decades. The organisation i will be working with has a goal of keeping the reef healthy and strong for years to come.

I will be snorkeling to observe and collect data on the species living around the Great Barrier Reef, assisting with marine debris data collection and mapping which can then be categorized and shared with conservationists to assist with their research, and sea turtle conservation which includes learning to identify turtle species, catalogue distinguishing features and track individual animals and their behaviour

Ever since I was a little girl i've been obsessed with animals and especially marine life, I always said i wanted to be a vet or a marine biologist. At 18 I still have a massive poster from animal planet of the different levels of the ocean in my room. Coral reefs play a massive role in our ecosystem and seeing them being destroyed breaks my heart so if I can do something to help even if it's a small amount it's still doing something
