10 Inner City Youth Traveling Across Country via Route 66
My Travel Story
Journal the Journey is a travel –based educational program designed for children between the ages of 10 and 18, offered under the Future Leaders of Tomorrow initiative.
Our program provides a secure and conducive learning environment where children can develop essential life skills and knowledge necessary for success in any field or industry they choose to pursue.
The first cohort will learn the history of Route 66, the fun facts about the states the group will be traveling
through, and how to manage money and properly budget.
* Assignment: All children will receive assignment details, prior to trip, that will require them to conduct research and complete a PowerPoint presentation. The assignment is intended to teach them teamwork and accountability as they must work together. The week before setting off on the road, the children will turn in the assignment and present while on the road.
* Learning on the Road: During the road trip, children will learn vital information on the towns, cities and states, monuments and national historical landmarks, the history of Route 66, and safety measures for travel.
* Financial Literacy: The children will learn financial literacy such as budgeting and money management as they manage and keep track of their spending habits by the spending money they receive from their parents.
