This trip is not for me personnally.  It is for a family that my family is sponsoring through the Freedom Alliance, Presents for Patriots program.  Presents for Patriots actually is a program that links families to military families struggling to make ends meet during the holidays...

Christmas is the season of miracles.  But for the military veteran recovering from combat injuries and consequently facing a forced retirement, it can be tough to buy in to the wonder of the holiday. Feelings of enchantment and goodwill are overwhelmed by cynicism and despair.

This is not kind of Christmas our military families deserve. For all they’ve done, for all they’ve sacrificed, is it right that they be left to muddle through a bleak and stressful holiday?

My family, the Evans family, are needing to use their current cash flow to support travel to the West Coast (Washington State) to visit ailing relatives rather than on their children for Christmas.

My family is planning on still providing Christmas gifts but given I work in an organization that travels all the time I asked if others could contribute through this site to make this trip happen not only for the parents, but the Evans children as well. 

The Trip Details are as Follows; 
* Airfare for five or six (tbd) from Columbus, Ohio to Portland, OR (Vancouver, WA is across the river) January12-16 or Feb 16-20, 2017
* Hotel (two rooms, adjoining) near PeachHealth Oncology near Vancouver, WA
* Car Rental 
* Expense cash for food and gas

Remaining cash will be provided to other Presents for Patriots families, or to Freedom Alliance, the charity that sponsors the Presents for Patriots program.
