My Travel Story

Hello everyone. I am Mst. Fariha Tasnim Busra, reaching out to you as I need financial help to continue my education. I am a first generation low income international(from Bangladesh) student who was enrolled in Bryn Mawr College with full financial aid. But due to unavoidable circumstances that I went through at the college for the last one year, I have no other option but to transfer to a community college and continue my education there. My SEVIS record will be terminated in one week unless I get to transfer to another school. We found a community college that will enroll me in such short notice, but according to the federal laws, I need to show the financial document that I can support myself here in the US for at least one year while submitting the application for the college. According to the community college application policy, as an international student, I will have to show $32,452 on my bank statement(a full year tuition fees and living expenses). However, as I come from a less affluent family and studied at Bryn Mawr with full scholarship, I didn’t have to pay so far and I don’t receive any financial support from my family. As I don't have the funds to get enrolled and continue my education in the community college, I'll have to leave the US by 23rd July or I will be deported. As this is a very critical time for me, I am reaching out to the community for support. My sincere request to you to help me in any way possible to get enrolled in the college and help me to continue my higher education. For instance, for the admission procedure, if somebody is comfortable allowing me to submit their bank statement(confidential details can be hidden) to the college just to show that I have the funds to support myself for a year, that will be more than enough for getting admitted to the school. And obviously, we will run the campaign on the same time and the funds received from the campaign will greatly help me with paying my tuition with time. And I'm also open to work as well as long as it does not break any legal rules. So what I was thinking je we will continue the campaign, but just for the admission procedure, if somebody wants to be my sponsor, and show their bank statement, that will do enough for getting admitted in the first position. And obviously, the campaign will run in the time being and hopefully it will collect the money in sha Allah by the time I have to pay tuition. If we go with what I’m suggesting for the time being, then the sponsor will just need to show their bank statement (they can hide their confidential details in the statement) and fill up this form, and the campaign for fundraising will go in the mean time and hopefully in sha Allah, by the time I have to pay for tuition, we will raise enough money. And this is the affidavit form linked, https://dccc.my.site.com/resource/1707922823000/AffidavitSupport .

Going back home in Bangladesh is not an option as I can’t get enrolled in any public colleges for the gap years(as I gave up my enrollment both in Bangladesh and in the US just to attend Bryn Mawr) and private colleges/universities are out of my family’s affordability. Also, the current situation in Bangladesh related to student movement has made it extremely risky to move back there as well let alone the opportunity for proper higher education. It’s a heartbreaking situation for me and I am extremely ashamed to ask for this funding and put everyone in this situation but I really need all of your help so that I can continue my education. Any amount of contribution would make a huge difference in my life and would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned earlier, for the quick admission procedure before the deadline on July 23rd, if anyone wants to support me by sponsoring me and give an affidavit of their financial documents to confirm admission initially so that I do not get deported, that'll be extremely helpful as in such a short time, collecting this huge amount of money seems out of reach for me. So I would be deeply grateful for any and all help received from you guys. Your donations will go directly towards my tuition and living expenses. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to my goal. Please share this campaign with your network as well. Spreading the word can help me reach more people who might be able to assist. Thank you so much in advance.
