Excavating Soil In Agricultural Wells And Deepening The Well
Small farmers in rural areas depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Rainfall is very low in this area. Small farmers are those who grow crops from the well established by their elders in their agricultural lands 200 years ago. These wells are now there. The depth of these wells is about 50 feet. Water came from this depth. But these wells are shallow and now water is not coming out.Small farmers do not get water from these wells to grow their crops.5 farmers depend on one agricultural well to grow crops.Because these wells are deep, water is not coming for crops. As there is no water in the wells, the lands in the rural areas are becoming desert. The percentage of water in the land has gone very deep. If the agricultural wells are made two meters deep, water will be found in the wells. But farmers do not have the financial means to dig wells in their lands. Many farmers in rural areas have stopped growing crops due to lack of water in the wells in the agricultural land.Farmers in the rural areas migrate with their families for labor to neighboring states for livelihood. Each village has 10 to 15 wells. It costs $830 to dig these wells from 2 meters to 5 meters. With 10 laborers, a 5 meter well can be dug in 10 days from a crane. If the wells are 5 meters deep then the water will get in the well. With this water, small farmers grow crops in their lands. This project will cost $250,000 to dig 300 wells. 1 lakh farmers will be benefited
