My Travel Story

by: Isabel Jespersen Start Date: Jan 14, 2018 - End Date: Jul 13, 2018
My name is Isabel, I am 12 years old, I am from the USA but am studying in Spain so that I can improve my Spanish and learn a new culture.

Animals are my passion.  I want to be a vet when I grow up. Two years ago I worked at an Elephant camp for a few week. I went to Tonga last summer and swam with whales, I also helped provide meals for local school kids.  Now I want to become a volunteer and help animals in need.

We will be going to Costa Rica for a month, first we will be working in an animal rescue camp, where we will feed and clean the animals and help educate local schools about these animals.  There are many duties to be done but I'm excited to learn everything I can and be able to help.

We will also be volunteering at a turtle rescue camp, where we will patrol the beaches protecting the eggs and helping return the hatchlings to the ocean.

Typicaly you have to be 18 to volunteer but I have written to the camps and they have agreed to my being a volunteer, especially since I speak Spanish and love animals.

It does cost money. This is why I need your help!

My goal is to raise $2,000.00 to cover my travel expenses, supplies and the charges for room and board by the organizations.

I appreciate your help for this amazing adventure ahead.
