My Travel Story

This mission is about people, resilience, and showing up where help is needed most. Traveling to Romania and Hungary gives me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and see firsthand how different communities care for children, families, and older adults facing poverty, displacement, and limited access to services. Thanks to any donations that I receive I will have the opportunity to bring along much needed supplies and resources that are vital to this community in need. I will travel for a week in March with a hand selected team from UNCW to provide health and human services with the Smiles Foundation. I was selected for this opportunity due to my GPA and Professor recommendations. Along with the impact this experience will have on my life and education, I will also receive 3 course credits toward my Masters degree in Social Work.
