This opportunity is extremely important to me and is something that I do not want to pass up. I am an English and Education major at my University, and being able to teach and assist children in diverse areas is imperative to me. Being able to experience another culture while also improving my education skills and improving the education of the children is an essential opportunity. This trip will help the children in Peru have a fresh perspective on their education, as I am sure my style of teaching differs from what they are used to. This difference in culture will provide new perspectives to both me and the kids. Providing education to young people about broad topics such as social life and culture is very important, but it is also important to show them basic life skills and basic understanding of the world. They have teachers to help them with this, but assistance from a foreign perspective will allow them to blossom into respectful, adept, and caring young people who will help shape a brighter future. 
This opportunity would mean the world to me in both personal gratification as well as diversifying knowledge in myself and the students. I am very passionate about education, and this trip will help make the students, teachers, people of the future, and myself better people. If I do not reach my goal and I am not able to go this summer, all donations will be put toward another volunteer opportunity sometime in the next year.
