Meet Jacob Hopson, a disabled veteran who dedicated his life to service and went on to create Virginia's first and only nonprofit grocery store.

The Story of Jacob:
Married with 4 amazing children, Jacob has 17 years of military service, Jacob has experienced a heart attack and the whole left side of his face is reconstructive surgery after returning from a deployment. This left him with nerve damage and scarred for life. 

After serving our country with honor and valor, Jacob returned home with a dream - a dream to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry. Despite his own challenges and setbacks, he forged ahead with an indomitable spirit.

Virginia's Beacon of Hope: The Nonprofit Grocery Store:

For the past eight years, Jacob has been the driving force behind Virginia's only nonprofit grocery store, a beacon of hope for countless individuals and families struggling to put food on the table. This remarkable store offers affordable, high-quality locally sourced and grown groceries to those in need, ensuring that no one in our community has to face hunger alone.
