My Travel Story

As a first-generation student, I wish to pay it forward through my service. I will experience a simulation of Peace Corps life regarding professional work, community engagement, and cultural exchange. I think this experience will help me understand what I want to do in my future career. As a Hispanic female, I continuously learning who I am and with this opportunity, I am sure my path will be that much more clear. 

Studying abroad has been a goal of mine. I would love to not only travel to this location to serve but to experience the diversity in culture. My awareness of the socioeconomic problems in underdeveloped nations will be increased as a result of this training. While thinking both personally and intellectually, this experience will allow me to learn how to address challenges in a community-based setting. Professionally, this training will help me to see and accept the value of networking with many organizations and platforms to accomplish shared objectives.
