My Travel Story

Salut à tous (Hello, all)! After graduating from Mizzou with two BAs in French and English Lit and a 3.5 GPA, I am very fortunate to have been accepted TAPIF--Teaching Assistantship Program in France. I have been placed in the small town of Poitiers and assigned to teach elementary school children. With this program, I will aid in teaching English and sharing my American culture. I will have the opportunity to inspire in my students a curiosity of foreign cultures and encourage exploration.  During the program, I will be living in Poitiers, France for 8 months and not only will I gain valuable teaching experience with this program, I will also have the incredible opportunity dive deeply into French and European culture; quenching my own curiosities and expanding my knowledge of foreign cultures. These invaluable experiences are some that I can share with future students to inspire exploration and appretiaion for other languages and cultures.
Your help in this grand endeavor is greatly appreciated! Every little bit that you can offer will help me arrive, comfortably (but frugaly) live within France, and travel Europe as much as possible.
Merci beacoup, mes amis (Thanks so much, friends)!

Life--it certainly gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it? What with planning a move across the globe, day-to-day life, and being the Queen of Procrastination and Forgetfulness, I've neglected to share or update my funding page. For that, I apologize and am grateful for the continued support of my friends and family. Merci!
Updates--Within Poitiers, I've been placed in a small fishing town called Royan, right on the west coast of France! Very excited for the beach, lots and lots of seafood, and experiencing more rural French culture. So far, I've been working on getting my long-stay visa in order and am beginning to look at flights and research housing options ($$$)! Here's hoping it will all come together smoothly!
As always, I am deeply appreciative of any and all support my friends and family are able to offer--be that financial help or simple words of encouragement! Merci une mille fois, mes amis!
And I will do my best to post more frequent updates!!
