A trip that can change mine and my family's life
My Travel Story
This is Anna, from Georgia. I am a 22 year old art student, currently working as a part-time private Japanese tutor. Last year my dad was diagnosed with the fourth stage bowel cancer. It's been really hard since then. I come from a family who's income is mediocre and this event has totally shaken us up. Right now, we are the point, where we barely have food at home, because my father's medications and chemotherapy costs an insane amount of money that we don't have. We took a loan from bank that we are also not able to pay back. My dad keeps getting weaker and weaker every day and we are not able to support him with treatment as we should, because we have no financial stability. My income is nowhere near enough to feed my family, pay for my school tuition and help my mom pay treatment and bank bills.
Last year I also met my current boyfriend who lives in the Philippiness. He was able to find me a sustainable job there, which would help my family by a lot, but the only problem here is that I need a ticket to go to the Philippiness, otherwise I can't work there. Jobs in Georgia have very low salaries and no matter what type of job I get, it will still not be enough to cover up all of the expenses we have. My mother has a very serious and a very good job, that should be paying well, but her monthly salary is only 400$, that can't even cover my dad's chemotherapy for a month.
After graduating university this July, if I will be able to go to the Philippiness, I can support my family from there. This decision is also not easy for me, since I struggle with anxiety disorder and depression, but there is nothing else I can do to help. The environment me and my whole family is living in right now, really pains me and makes my mental health condition even worse. We are all malnourished, especially me, because of all the amount of stress I'm under and because I choose to eat less, just so my dad can eat better to sustain his health.
Right now I am studying at the university, working part-time job, also studying Japanese accounting to be able to work at the company if I will be able to go to the Philippines and it all feels like a lot for me, too much.
This is why I really really need help to just buy one ticket to the Philippines. I have saved up some money for it but not enough, that's all I can save with my income. So, please, if anyone can, anyone wants to support me to help my family have a better life, to help keep my dad alive, please, help me out.
