About a year and a half ago, I commenced my dive into spirituality. I had no idea how vast the oceans of knowledge would be, as I am still mid-dive.

I grew up in Canada, to Indian immigrant parents. Looking back into my childhood, I see how hard my parents worked to provide us with a life in Canada. However, they never seemed to be happy. My dad struggled with and struggled to admit his alcohol addiction, and my mom, though undiagnosed and in denial, I'm sure struggles with anxiety and depression. As mental illness is often multi-generational, for the majority of my now 25 years in this human form, I have struggled with depression and anxiety.

After a three year long relationship with a physically and financially abusive boyfriend, I finally decided that I had had enough and it was time to turn my life around. I started seeing my psychotherapist weekly, and she has been a catalyst for my dive into spirituality. When my yearning for knowledge of the divine awakened within me, all of my struggles; the self-harm.and the suicidal ideations, seemed to slowly but surely vanish out of my life.

Now, I know that the Peruvian children are calling to me. I have a dream to help them. I have faith that this dream, with a plan and with faith, will soon be a reality. I take it as a sign that every day, driving to my job I see "Peru Road". It is calling to me. With your help, I can help to empower the Peruvian children, and show them that all it takes is belief and faith in yourself and in the divine, to become and achieve ANYTHING you want.
