My Travel Story

Hi, I’m Mark—and I’m on a mission to serve, learn, and grow through a life-changing volunteer experience abroad. This opportunity isn’t just about travel; it’s about showing up for others while continuing a journey of deep personal healing and rediscovery.

After walking through some of the most difficult chapters of my life—including homelessness, emotional trauma, and rebuilding after addiction—I found purpose in connection, cultural exchange, and giving back. My time in Peru changed me in ways I didn’t expect. The kindness I was shown by complete strangers reminded me of who I really am—someone with a heart for service and a passion for human connection.

Now, with the support of International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ), I have the chance to volunteer internationally, immersing myself in a new culture while contributing meaningfully to a local community in need. But I can’t do it alone.
