Hello everyone!
My name is Gentille Runyambo, and I reside in North Carolina.

After 14 months of an intense accelerated program in Medical Assisting, I knew I needed a break before I start my job hunting. However, my aspiration is to do something meaningful with my free time, by giving back to the world. Volunteering has been an integral part of my life for many years, and which I intended to continue. I love volunteering and making a difference in people’s lives, and whenever the opportunity to do so arises I take advantage of it to make a difference. I have previously volunteered at Barron Center, a rehabilitation center for seniors, at the Salvation Army Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen, daycare, and many different church nurseries. In addition, I have volunteered at Suitcase Clinic, a program focused on giving primary care to homeless individuals. I currently interpret for the African group members who have the English language barrier during Sunday church services.

I am fundraising for a volunteering trip to the Middle East, in May 2017. This trip is through GoEco, a humanitarian and ecological volunteering organization which gives volunteers the opportunity to work on various projects abroad, while giving back to local communities. I will be volunteering in a Rehabilitative Daycare for Children with Developmental Delays in Jaffa. I am looking forward to this life-changing experience that will enable me to help others make a difference.

The only obstacle that is in the way of this opportunity is my present financial situation. The cost of the trip is going to exceed my financial abilities. The cost is $3,600, and I have already raised $300 from family members and friends. The donation will go towards the program application fees, flights, lunch and dinner, daily transportation to project site, and personal expenses. Any contribution in any amount is absolutely appreciated. I look forward to sharing with you all a copy of my diary via email or Facebook once abroad.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration on this matter.

Sincerely,

Gentille Runyambo
