Inspired to Explore: My Sicilian Study Abroad Adventure
My Travel Story
I’ve always loved the idea of travel, but I was recently inspired by my second cousin, Stephen Morin, who passed away doing what he loved—exploring the world. In just 10 years, he reached 86 countries, visiting places I’d never even heard of. Stephen’s adventurous spirit and fearless curiosity have motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and go somewhere new for my study abroad experience. This trip to Sicily feels like the perfect way to honor his legacy and begin my own journey of discovery.
In Sicily, I’ll stay in a city that’s over 2,700 years old, walk through medieval castles, visit ancient ruins, snorkel in the clear blue Mediterranean, and even hike Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe! Along the way, I’ll learn about how nature and history shape each other, discover local traditions, and yes—eat all the gelato I can (for research, obviously).
This trip is about more than just seeing beautiful places—it’s about learning, growing, and creating unforgettable experiences. I’d love your support to help make this dream a reality. Whether it’s $5 or just cheering me on, every bit helps! Thank you for being part of my adventure and helping me honor Stephen's memory. ❤️
