My Travel Story
This May, I’ll be heading to China for a four-month solo internship — a journey that’s both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, as it marks my first time living away from my hometown for such an extended period. I’ll be based in a mountainous area where public transport like metros and trains isn’t easily accessible, so I’ll need to rely on taxis for daily travel, which may become costly over time.
This internship is a rare and valuable opportunity, and I’m determined to make the most of it. However, one of the key challenges I’m facing right now is funding. While I will be receiving a stipend of under USD250 per month, it may not be sufficient to meet the rising cost of living in China.
