My Travel Story

Hi! My name is Johnda and I am raising money to study abroad in Spain. I have always been fascinated by other cultures, languages, and societies. As an Anthropology major, I feel that I have been able to expand my knowledge of different cultures and societies and the beauty that they have. I can only imagine how it will feel to be able to contextualise all of the information I have learned about culture over the past few years by studying abroad in a foreign country. One of the courses I will be taking while abroad is a course in teaching English as a foreign language which will allow me to volunteer by teaching English in a Spanish classroom. Another course that I'm excited about will help me to delve into ideas of culture and identity within Spain. I believe that Spain has a rich and beautiful cultural history, it's not enough to simply read about that history. I can't wait to be able to see it for myself while gaining valuable experiences for my future career as an Anthropologist.

    Vote On Which Volunteer Opportunity I Should Support Abroad
    For a course entitled "Spanish Culture Up Close" I will be completing 15 hours of volunteer service for one of four causes and I am leaving the decision up to my fundraising supporters!! When you donate leave a comment on the bottom of the main page telling me which cause you think I should volunteer for (which I will also have to write a 12 page paper and 30 minute presentation on yikes!
