My Travel Story

Hello! My name is Brooke and I am a full time student studying child and adolescent development. Growing up I have always been surrounded by younger children, being that both of my parents are teachers. My mom is a special education teacher, teaching grades first through fourth. Being around this kind of environment has inspired me to help those in need which is why I want the opportunity to be apart of the Project Abroad program that would give me the chance to be an intern in occupational therapy in Cambodia. I understand that times are hard right now especially because of this pandemic, but I would still like to continue to gain as much experience as possible within the occupational therapy field to help those around me. Being apart of this program would teach me new practices outside of western practices which I believe is absolutely necessary in terms of being culturally aware. Learning other cultural practices will help me become a more open-minded and well educated therapist. Thank you!
