Hello, My name is Laura and I am a student of Miami Dade College. 

For me having the oportunity to travel and study in Italy is beyond amazing. I was born in Cuba and had to migrate to the US to be able to study what I love, wich is Art. Being able to study in the birthplace of Renaissance, learn in real time from all the amazing works of art otherwise I would only seen on books, is one of a kind oportunity. Besides all the knowledge and career development oportunities this program offers, there is another personal reason why this is so meaningful to me: my father. When coming to the US I had to leave him behind, wich was very hard since we are very close. He is an artist like me. He was the fist one who taught me how to draw, or how the color palette works. This would be a trip in honor to him too, so he could live vicariously through me this wonderful experience he never had the oportunity to do.
