Sharing the Vision of Basic Income: Support My Journey to Brazil's BIEN Congress

I'm Temoho, a 23-year-old filmmaker and activist from South Africa, and I'm excited to share my documentary, "Towards a Basic Income," with the world at the BIEN Congress in Brazil from August 24th to 29th! This event is a dream come true, and I'm eager to connect with like-minded individuals, learn from their experiences, and showcase my work.

My documentary explores the evolution of social welfare in South Africa from the early 90s to the present day, delving into the impact of grants and the potential for a universal basic income system. Through interviews, archival footage, and personal stories, "Towards a Basic Income" sheds light on the complexities of poverty, inequality, and social justice.

The BIEN Congress is the perfect platform to share my vision with a global audience, learn from experts, and network with fellow activists and changemakers. I'm passionate about using my skills in filmmaking, production, and activism to amplify marginalized voices and promote positive change.

Funding Goal:

To make this journey possible, I need your support to cover the following costs:

- Return flight from South Africa to Brazil: R70,000
- Accommodation and food for the duration of the trip: R20,000
- Other costs (passport, airport transfers, etc.): R5,000
