A Journey Through Time: Honoring My Mum’s Legacy

History was more than just a subject for me and my mum—it was our shared passion, our connection, and our escape into the past. From the grandeur of Ancient Rome to the mysteries of Egypt and the sacred lands of Israel, we dreamed of walking through history together. But life had other plans. Last year, I lost my mum, and with her, I lost the person who made history feel alive.
Now, I want to take the journey we never got to make together.

Rome: Where Our Souls Stand Together

Of all the places we dreamed of, Rome was always at the top. The Colosseum—where gladiators once fought for glory—was where we imagined standing, side by side, taking in the echoes of the past. My mum would have loved to see the worn stones that once held roaring crowds, to touch the history we had only read about. Though she’s not here, I know that by standing there, she’ll be with me.

Egypt & Israel: Walking Through Ancient Wonders

The Pyramids of Giza, towering testaments to the ingenuity of the past, were another place we longed to see. We spent hours fascinated by the pharaohs, the tombs, and the secrets buried beneath the sands. And Israel—so rich in history, so deeply woven into the stories we loved—was another land we wished to explore together.

But Rome remains my greatest wish. Because in that arena, where warriors once stood, I will stand for both of us.

Why This Journey Matters

This isn’t just a trip. It’s a way to keep my mum’s love for history alive. To feel her presence as I step into the places we cherished in our hearts. To make our dream a reality, even if it’s just me physically standing there. Because in spirit, she’ll be right beside me.

This journey is my way of making sure she still gets to see it all—through me.
