My Travel Story

Two years ago, I set off alone on a study abroad program to a small university in a town located north of Chicago in Wisconsin from here in Ireland. I studied business related topics of choice to further my knowledge in American industries. I learnt a combination of valuable information in business marketing, management and Insurance. Taking the step to study in America has allowed me to build on my business knowledge but I’ve also learnt so much about myself. I’ve learnt there are commodities I can live without, Irish accents have a high level of charm to them as I’ve been told frequently, understanding one another starts with finding a way to communicate and opening up, a lot of Americans’ have some percentage Irish heritage within their blood and finally I’ve learnt no matter how far apart two people are they can always make each other’s day.

It’s this last point I ask for help in. As much as I can facetime, text or communicate over the phone it’s not the same. There’s a part of me still in America. That part of me is stuck there and may be for some time. I set up Love exchange when I arrived as light entertainment to help with homesickness and to show of aspects of my experience in a light hearted way to friends and family back home but unfortunately it worked. I found that love I wanted a long way away from home. So, I ask for help in funding my Easter trip back to America so that I may be reunited again with all that I’ve grown fond of and miss so dearly.
