My Travel Story

I would like your help to produce a series of educational films for young people.

My name is Connor, in 2015 I took the spontaneous decision to travel to Spain for a month, it was my first time outside of the UK on my own. During the trip I met so many incredible people and made memories that will last a lifetime. In March of 2016, I took another solo trip to Portland, Oregon for the month and once again, made so many memories. I have grown so much as a person through travel and found confidence in myself that I never thought existed, all while practising my photography skills. 

I shared a lot of photographs I had taken to my social media following of around 2,500 - and to my surprise, the images I posted were shared, liked and retweeted over 100,000 times. Comments included "I wish I could do this" and "This must have cost so much money" - But the truth is, I budgeted well. The trip didn't cost me an insane amount of money because I played it carefully, seeked out the best deals, volunteered in return for Bed & Board and still had the trip of a lifetime. 

I want to produce a series of films while exploring the United States of America from July 2017 until December 2017 on a six month visa. As well as this, postinf daily 'vlogs' onto Twitter following my journey as it happens. I loved doing photography, but I feel like I didn't get to express my feelings and motivation through images alone, this is something I really think I could do, and hopefully in turn inspire young people like me, who don't think international and/or solo travel is an approachable goal. The films will be based on budgeting, confidence, safe travelling and enjoying the experience.

Your donations to this project, as well as my own saved funds, will go towards the following: Legal fees, equipment, accomodation, film permission costs, experiences, travel and editing.
