My Travel Story

by: Sophie Zannetti Start Date: Mar 13, 2017 - End Date: Jul 12, 2017
Hi everyone,
My name is Sophie. I am a university student at the University of Glasgow and I am studying Zoology. I will be going to South Africa this summer to work with a wildlife veterinarian and his staff who are specialized in the conservation of many animals, especially those at risk of becoming extinct.
The organization I have selected for this experience is called African Conservation Experience. ACE supports and enables worthwhile wildlife conservation work and local communities. The money that I am raising will pay for my plane ticket , but most of it will be put back into the project I will be participating in.
I will be working alongside wildlife professionals to assist with the medical treatment and handling  of wildlife, with much of the work related to game capture and relocation. This is essential for me as I can gain experience that will enable me to be considered by a veterinary school. Also, I will participate actively in wildlife conservation, a worthy cause.
This has been a dream of mine ever since I was five years old. I am determined to realize this dream, a dream to help endangered species, to stop the destruction of our planet.
Thank you for your time and for any contribution you make.

Sincerely,
Sophie
