I am Adriana, a 2nd year medical student in Indonesia. I have been accepted to SSS Cairo Medical Summer School 2018 in Pediatric Program. Attending this program is very important to me because I am a medical student only partly by my choice; and it affects how I study every day in college. Beside struggling to remember all the information taught there, I am very hesitant to attend a class named Basic Clinical Skills, in which I study about the procedural skills doctors need to know. I don't plan to be a full-time clinician but I know I need to overcome my fear and hesitation towards doing the skills before it is too late; I am very afraid that I won't be able to do the skills in the clinical rotation (I am still in preclinical phase of the study), thus failing to be a doctor like my parents want me to.

I choose this program because it offers the best program compared to other programs I found: I will learn in Kasr Al Ainy Hospital, a hospital affiliated with Cairo University - which is better in ranking than my university. By meeting real patients, I hope I will be able to build my passion towards learning the skills as I will meet people in need of them. Furthermore, I also hope that the knowledge I get from the summer school will make me know more about healthcare in other countries - with the knowledge, I will work my best to improve the quality of healthcare in my country.

I attached the website of the program here. Thank you for reading! Your help will make me be a very better person :)
