My Travel Story

by: Bailey Hall Start Date: Nov 8, 2024 - End Date: Mar 7, 2025
Growing up, my educational journey was not traditional. Moving often and only spending two years in a public-school setting, all of my educational learning came from homeschooling and life through different work settings. At fourteen years old I started working full-time and finished putting myself through school and was the first to graduate amongst my siblings with a high school diploma even after having my son at 18 yrs old.
Since my teenage years I always had a drive and knew where I was going in life. College was in those plans as I knew I needed it to complete my dream of working as a Probation Officer in the Juvenile Justice System. But being a young mom those dreams were placed on hold because I wanted to raise my children first and their education became a priority. The delay was not an end though because it only made me stronger and more determined of where I was going and how I wanted to make a difference. Starting my college education journey in fall of 2021 I elected to do online schooling so I could still be there for my kids first. But also having to overcome so many educational insecurities that I had never learned before made the journey tough but not impossible. Upon completing an internship course at the Juvenile Probation department, it only fueled my passion more as I went into my bachelor’s degree.
Dedication, hard work, passion, and determination has allowed me to graduate a year early. With my last semester being this upcoming spring, I wanted to take a big risk, face fears and expand my education one last time. After applying and being interviewed I was accepted and offered a spot to study abroad on a weeklong spring break trip to the Netherlands! Where we look at their Criminal Justice system and compare it to Americas system. How does this help me? It makes me more aware of what is out there, what is working and what needs fixing. A new outlook and perspective that is out of the box thinking. Which can only benefit in my career path as I help juveniles look differently at their own walk and choices. This trip also allows me to face my personal fears of traveling on a plane and being in another country with people I don’t fully know. But trusting along the way that it will be ok.
I am a true believer that a well diverse educated person that is driven, has heart and passion but leads with intentionality can change the world by their actions. Thank you for believing and supporting me in my educational journey. May it never be the end but only the beginning of what’s to come and what’s still to be learned along the way.

  • New Year, New Semester.

2025 is here already! Which means I am only 2 months away from my trip abroad. The nerves and excitement are really kicking into gear now, but I received my passport, so that is a huge sigh of relief as it gets me one step closer to completing everything I need done before I leave.
Thank you to everyone who has already partnered with me in either prayer or donation, and to those who will. I am still a long way to my goal and any amount helps me get one step closer to completing another step as I start my last spring semester.

  • Program Fee Reduced!

    Hey everyone,
A quick testimony I wanted to share with you all. I just received an email that the program fee came in almost a $1000 less than I thought it would be!! This is incredible as it helps close the gap for the funds I need to raise still.
I still am a long way from achieving my goal, but this is an exciting step forward! Thank you so much to those who have supported me! I have updated my total cost to reflect the new change :)
